Ella Cox

Howdy! My Name is Ella Cox, and I am from Tyler Texas. I am a Dance Science major hoping to become a Physical Therapist. I absolutely love plants, and gardening. I love to play board games, eat ice cream, and fellowship with friends and family.

Why did you join the Pursuit Ministries?

I was searching for a group that I would be able to grow spiritually with. My senior year of High School, I had the opportunity to lead a seventh grade girls small group. I was hoping to find a similar group to be a part of. As a member of Pursuit, I am not only poured into but have the opportunity to mentor a girl as well.

What is your favorite bible verse and why?

1 Corinthians 13:4-6 says, "Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth." This is definitely my favorite group of verses. It is such a great reminder of how we are called to love like Jesus did.

Words of encouragement for High School/Middle School Girls:

Do not place your identity in worldly things (friends, relationships, extracurricular activities) They will undoubtedly fail you. Your identity should be found solely in Christ. He is the one thing in life that will never change. He will never fail you or leave you. Stay rooted in your relationship with God and you will be just fine :)
